Troop 117 went on a campout to Calico Ghost town.
Like any good old Western town the had to be some gunplay. In our case if was a nerf war set in the hills around our campsite. Afterwards, scouts explored Calico and the next day on a dry riversbed outside of Calico on the way back to the highway, we stopped and shot rockets off.
See photo gallery for pictures.

The boys decided to camp up the hillside in the own "space" and set up a nice little camp. Only a few scouts decided to pitch a tent. The others opted for cots outside or an hamock.
We arrived about 9pm Friday (traffic was a bit of a mess due to an accident), pitch camp and settled in with...Read Full Post »

Lake Jennings Camping Trip Highlights:
Four scouts attended this campout: Nathan, Ben, Kyle and Jeremy. We also had five adults and three siblings, a great turn out for our little troop.
Lake Jennings is located in Lakeside, CA, about a 2 hour drive from Long Beach, on the way to San Diego. The campground overlooks the small fresh water lake that is primarily used for fishing. Fishing can be done along the shore, the dock or on a motor boat.
Our troop arrived Friday ni...Read Full Post »
